Battle of the Brews

Published February 2nd, 2015

Budweiser's "Brewed the Hard Way" Super Bowl commercial last night may have further alienated the craft brew drinkers. Insulting you competition is probably not the best way to increase your popularity. Ironically, they appear to be criticizing craft beer drinkers, yet they recently purchased several craft breweries - Goose Island, Elysian, Blue Point and 10 Barrel just to name a few. Even more ironic, during their infamous Super Bowl commercial, they single out and poke fun at Pumpkin Peach Ale a type of beer that Elysian is known for.

Budweiser has been the self proclaimed "King of Beers" or so they think. The craft beer movement is giving them a run for their money. Statistics show that Americans now drink more craft beer than Budweiser. In fact approximately 44% of Americans between the ages of 21 and 27 have never tried a regular Budweiser.

Have you abandoned the "King of Beers"? Do you think Budweiser has lost their appeal or did they never deserve the title they bestowed upon themselves?

Let the battle commence! Which side of the battle field are you on? Tell us who you feel makes a better beer....
