Come Celebrate the 8th Annual CT Brewers Guild Brewfest

Published June 3rd, 2014

Summer kicks off with a blast in Connecticut, as the 8th Annual CT Brewers Guild Brewfest returns to Ski Sundown in Hartford on June 21. For one afternoon, up in the lofty vibes of Ski Sundown, beer enthusiasts can spend a few hours sampling more than 35 beers from throughout CT, all while listening to the music of Flyin’ Blind and eating foodby Avon Prime Meats (formerly The Meat House/Avon).

Unlimited tastings and a plethora of beer knowledge at your fingertips

There are many reasons why the CT Brewers Guild Brewfest has been so successful for the past 7 years. One of the main reasons is because of the unique approach taken with this beer festival. At the CT Brewers Guild Brewfest, event-goers will actually get the opportunity to learn about craft brewed beers. Representatives from the brewers will be in attendance to talk about their beers, and the process it takes to turn an idea into a drink inside your glass. Well known CT brewers, like Two Roads Brewery and Thomas Hooker Brewery, will rub elbows with newer kids on the block, including Blackhog Brewing Co., Overshores Brewing Co., and Stubborn Beauty Brewing Co. Also in attendance will be longtime CT beer supporters and advocates - CT Beer Trail, Cork & Brew (a wine and brew it yourself destination that allows you to become your own brewmaster), as well as other local businesses that will add entertainment to your afternoon.

Not too confident on your beer tasting skills?

We all know those wine snobs out there who can tell you (or claim they can) the exact year a wine was bottled. While perhaps not that extreme, Connecticut does have its very own beer snob - Will Siss (The Beer Snob), who’ll be in attendance as well. Siss makes it his passion to teach others how to drink like a snob as well as how to hold (and attend) beer tastings). He’s led tastings throughout CT., including the Waterbury Club, Litchfield Salt Water Grille, and Nejaime’s Fine Wine & Spirits. Siss will have a table at the Brewfest to offer his expertise, and passion, for beer with all attendees.

A getaway where you can stay and play

Ski Sundown usually gets a lot of press - and visitors - during the winter. But it’s the ideal getaway location for an early summer afternoon in CT. Celebrate a few hours of endless beer, great music, and premium quality food you can’t find anywhere else. CT Brewers Guild Brewfest takes place on Satudray, June 21, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Ski Sundown in Hartford, Conn. Tickets are $25 in advance, and $30 at the door. Designated driver tickets are $20.
