The Brew HaHa beer festival and Sierra Arts Foundation fundraiser is finally of legal drinking age! The 21st annual event will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016 at the Nugget Casino Resort, starting at 7 p.m. for VIP ticket holders and 8 p.m. for general admission ticket holders. Your ticket to Brew HaHa gets you a commemorative pint tumbler, live music, all-you-can-responsibly drink tastings and more! For the past 20 years, Brew HaHa has helped generate much-needed funding for the Sierra Arts Foundation, which provides support for area art programs such as Arts in Education, the Elder Care Concert Series and the Arts Integration Project. The event raised $34,679 for the Sierra Arts Foundation in 2015. The Nugget Casino Resort works closely with Sierra Arts Foundation to produce the event. Local and regional beverage distributors donate all of the beer for the event. More than 100 different brews will be available for unlimited tastings at Brew HaHa. Event-goers will be able to sample seasonal and microbrew varieties that they won’t be able to try anywhere else! VIP ticket holders will gain early access to the event at 7 p.m., giving them an extra hour to enjoy the delicious brews offered at Brew HaHa. They’ll also be entered into a special raffle to win one of 10 great prizes! VIPs will enjoy special seating and the chance to chat with brewers before the general admission ticket holders arrive. During the event, bring your brew with you and tour the Artist Village, where you’ll have a chance to do some shopping for locally and regionally created art products, including paintings, photos, glass, sculptures, fiber art, watercolors, handmade candles, jewelry, prints, illustrations and more. More than 50 artists are expected to display and sell their original works, including Bryce Chisholm, Erik Holland, Joe Winter, Lisa Kurt, The Great Basin Native American Artist Association and KMH Designs. To help raise even more funding for the arts in northern Nevada, Sierra Arts Foundation will be raffling off great prizes from local and regional businesses and artists. Prizes include tickets to the Midtown Mural Tour, limited-edition prints, hotel stays, dinners for two, show tickets and tickets for 2017’s Brew HaHa event. Reno-native Whitney Myer will headline Brew HaHa’s live concert. Myer jetted on to the scene after wowing Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green, and Blake Shelton on NBC’s singing competition “The Voice” in 2012, earning a rarely seen four invitations from all four judges to join their competition teams after her show-stopping rendition of Alicia Keys “No One.” Following the competition, Myer released her first solo EP “The Articles of Luminous Nature” which highlights not only her soulful voice but also her focused musical prowess as a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, experimenting for the first time with electronic elements that could be recreated for live performances. Myer is a powerhouse musician who has stunned audiences up and down the west coast of the United States and Canada including appearances at The Bounce Festival and SXSW, leaving everyone who hears her wanting more. The Nugget wants everyone to be safe after the event. Enjoy a special $59 room rate when you call 800-648-1177 and ask for the “Brew HaHa Take-The-Elevator-Home Rate.” Tickets are available now by calling 800-648-1177. Tickets are $50 for General Admission and $65 for VIPs. Ticket prices will increase by $10 on the day of the event.
