Downtown “DO THE BREW” is a craft beer tasting event featuring over 170 craft beers from more than 50 different state, regional and national breweries. The purpose of the event is to bring the unique taste of craft beers to South Central Nebraska residents and raise money for the Hastings Community Arts Council. ONLY 1,000 TICKETS WILL BE SOLD TO THIS EVENT! – THIS IS A 21 AND OVER EVENT. To accommodate more beer loving participants the event will be held OUTDOORS for the first time at the intersection of 1st Street and St. Joseph Avenue in Downtown Hastings, Nebraska. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. and the beer tasting ends at 8:00 p.m. TICKETS ARE $25.00 in advance or $30.00 at the door and can be purchased at the Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce, Murphy’s Wagon Wheel, WineStyles or online at www.downtowndothebrew.com. Your ticket includes admission to the event, a commemorative “DO THE BREW” tasting cup, live music and four hours of craft beer tasting. WILL THERE BE FOOD AT THE EVENT? – Yes, several food vendors will be on hand and you may purchase food at an additional cost. I DON’T LIKE BEER; WILL THERE BE OTHER DRINKS AT THE EVENT? – WHAT? – You don’t like beer! While that is hard to imagine, there will be a variety of ciders available to taste as well as Pepsi Products and water. WHAT BREWERIES WILL BE AT THE EVENT? – There will be beers from over 50 breweries at this event including; Benson Brewery, Big Sky, Blue Blood, Blue Dog, Blue Moon, Boston Beer, Boulder Beer, Boulevard, Breckenridge, Brickway, Chameleon, Crown, Day of the Dead, Empyrean, Game On, Goose Island, Great Divide, Green Flash, Infusion, Kincader, Kona, Landshark, Leinenkugel, Loop, Lucky Bucket, Nebraska Brewing, New Belgium, Odell, Omission, Oskar Blues, Ploughshare, Red Hook, Resignation, Scratchtown, Scrumpy, Shiner, SKA, Sprecher, Squatters, Stone, Summitt, Tall Grass, Thunderhead, Tommyknocker, Twisted Pine, Upstream, Wasatch, Widmer, Zipline. WHO RECEIVES THE PROCEEDS FROM THIS EVENT? – Proceeds from this event go to help fund the Hastings Community Arts Council. The purpose of the “Council” is to nurture, coordinate and celebrate arts, artists and culture in the greater Hastings area. DO DESIGNATED DRIVERS HAVE TO BUY A TICKET TO BE ALLOWED INTO THE EVENT? – We encourage and welcome designated drivers to our event, however the event is a fundraiser and we have live music, therefore, everyone in attendance must purchase a ticket and BE OVER 21. NO EXCEPTIONS! ARE INFANTS OR CHILDREN ALLOWED INTO THE EVENT? – No one under the age of 21 will be allowed into the event! This includes designated drivers who must be 21 years of age. No infants, toddlers or children are permitted. A valid photo ID must be presented at the gate to enter. WILL THERE BE A SHUTTLE SERVICE PROVIDED? – YES! This year a shuttle service will be provided by Good Samaritan Village of Hastings. They won’t pick you up, but if you make arrangements with the driver he will deliver you to your home or hotel within the Hastings City limits. PLEASE don’t ask the driver to take you to another bar or restaurant. Shuttle drivers will be instructed to deliver attendees to a home or hotel/motel.
