Inaugural Riverwalk Summer Session Fest

Excitement for Hillsborough’s Riverwalk has already begun to grow, and a group of local business owners hopes to help that spread not only in town but also across the region. Owners and managers of The Wooden Nickel Pub, LaPlace Louisiana Cookery and Mystery Brewing Co. have joined forces, getting the ball rolling on a new town festival wrapped around Riverwalk: Riverwalk Summer Session Fest. The festival—to be held Saturday, Aug. 16—will center around the mouth of Riveralk in Gold Park, featuring children’s activities, food trucks and a beer garden of sorts. James said the goal was to have a family-oriented, low-key, daytime outdoor festival to encourage locals, families, dogs, children and visitors to explore Hillsborough and the new greenway.
