Mt. Angel Wurstfest

February 24th and 25th, 2017, the Mt Angel Chamber of Commerce presents the last great blast of winter - Wurstfest, the 9th annual celebration of the mighty German (wurst) sausage. Special events include Senior Day on Friday and on Saturday, Race Northwest holds a walk/run. Area sausage makers and vendors – Mt. Angel Sausage Co., Glockenspiel and Urban German present the best of their wurst (bratwurst, currywurst, and frickadel) and others garnished with sauerkraut, grilled onions and mustards. Featured beers are Warsteiner from Germany and local Seven Brides Brewing. An array of German and regional wines plus non-alcoholic beverages are available. Select cheeses, baked goods, chocolates, roasted nuts and other delicacies round out the food offerings. German clothing and specialty items are also on sale. Non-stop music at Wurstfest features O’fest favorites including Mt. Angel’s own Z Musikmakers. Local dancing troupes, the Engelberg Dancers and the Kleinstädtlers, perform their lively dances both days.
