Additional Details

In 2013, GTECH set out to grow hops on an unused, vacant portion of Garfield Community Farm to see whether it could be a creative (and delicious) way to reuse some of the 4,500 acres of vacant land in the city. With the help of Noah of the Hop Project and the fine farmers of Garfield Farm, we planted to grow a few varieties of hops for East End Brewery and -- guess what -- it worked! Inspired by the Hops on Lots project, GTECH throws the annual Wethoptober Fundraiser to celebrate and support our projects that creatively reuse vacant lots. This year we're partnering with Wigle Whiskey and East End Brewery to offer an evening of wet-hopped brews and hopped whiskey, tasty food and great conversation at Wigle Whiskey Barrel House located in the Northside neighborhood of Spring Garden. For $30 you will receive: A 12oz GTECH Beer Glass - yours to take home One hopped whiskey cocktail Three 6oz pours from three unique hopped beers from East End Brewery Tasting demos with samples of hopped whiskey Live music and food trucks onsite with autumn themed menus from Berlin Street Foods and Brownstone Wood Fired Brick Oven. FAQs Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event? Yes, you must be 21+ and over to attend this event. IDs will be required to enter. No exceptions. Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No. What is the refund policy? Because it is a fundraiser, there are no refunds. However, your ticket is transferable. Where do I park? You can park in all the following places: 1. Gravel lot on Spring Garden Ave, diagonal from Whiskey Garden 2. In alley behind Whiskey Garden, which you can access from Vinial or Basin St. 3. Street Parking on Troy Hill Rd, Vinial, Voskamp or any of the streets in the neighborhood. You can access Voskamp St via Basin Street--we'll have a Wigle person there to help you find it! 4. Lots surrounding Penn Brewery (including next to municipal building, and in gravel lot on Troy Hill Road, as well as lots on Vinial St) 5. Lot behind Schiller Classical Academy which you can get to via Wetach St Please do not park on sidewalks on Spring Garden Ave. Wigle Whiskey hearts their neighbors and the feeling is mutual right now. They don't want that to change! Where can I contact the organizer with any questions? Contact Katherine from GTECH Strategies - [email protected] with any questions or interest in volunteering.
